We drink coffee as much as you do, and we understand that not all machines deliver the results that you need. That is why we spent the last few months looking at some of the top models, comparing features and trying to identify which brands are the best. The Jura GIGA W3 Professional Superautomatic Espresso (View on Amazon.com) hit a grand slam among our team. It delivers the taste of delicious espresso in a fraction of the time that you might expect, but it delivers the same rich and flavorful taste that you get in a local shop.
Unlike other models at this price point that have so many bells and whistles users can’t brew a cup, this one has a professional design but comes loaded with basic functions for home use. A grinding station at the very top makes it easy to grind and brew coffee from fresh beans, and a TFT touchscreen display helps you select the grinding features that you want. Jura added other features too, including automatic cleaning and descaling programs that help you better enjoy the flavor of your beans.

Features
Workhorse Design
Whether you use this Jura model at home or work, you’ll find that it can withstand all your needs. Its workhorse design makes it perfect for busy offices that have a lot of foot traffic as well as shops, but it also works great in a home or restaurant.
Barista Recipes
Make all the same cappuccino and coffee drinks that your barista makes for you via the touchscreen display on the front of this espresso maker. You can access more than 30 traditional coffee settings and 12 recipes designed by professional coffee shop workers.
Adjustable Air Intake
An adjustable air intake added to its design increases and decreases the amount of air that moves through based on the type of drink it brews. The machine can add more air to give you a lighter and more complex drink, or it can add less air to concentrate down that flavor and give you a bolder roast.
Milk Foam
When making some drinks, this Jura model will carefully heat up the milk and add the froth to your glass before adding some extra milk foam and the coffee itself. If you want to add milk or froth to a cappuccino or another coffee drink, the machine lets you select that option from its touchscreen and quickly add just the right amount.
Professional Grinder
Ceramic discs and a professional grinding system help this one keep up with the demands of your shop. Those specially designed discs won’t break down or chip, even after months of hard work. The professional grinder breaks down those beans to get the most flavor out of each one.
Built-in Descaling
Descaling your espresso maker ensures that your coffee tastes the same day after day. Lime and calcium deposits left behind by your water can make the coffee taste bitter or burnt. This Jura espresso machine comes with a built-in descaling feature that removes those deposits from its internal tank.
Rinsing Feature
If you use different types of coffee beans, you need to rinse the reservoir to keep the flavors pure. Not rinsing the tank will result in the flavor of the last beans coming across in future cups. This espresso maker has a built-in rinsing feature that quickly rinses away any left over residue.
Cleaning Setting
Use the automatic cleaning setting to clean out the reservoir and other components between uses. This helps you, your customers and employees enjoy the rich flavor they want and keeps the machine from breaking down.
Flat White Setting
While some drinks start with milk and then add coffee, a flat white features espresso with a small amount of heated milk poured over the top. With this model, you can now make a flat white in seconds. This setting tells the machine to pour the espresso in the cup and then add a small amount of heated milk.
Simple Start
Though the W3 comes with a lot of features and settings, it’s fairly easy to use. It comes with a push button start located on the very top. Press that button in the morning to turn the machine on before using the touchscreen to make your selections.
Larger Tanks
You’ll always have the right amount of beans and water on hand to make espresso drinks because of the larger reservoirs on this machine. It can hold up to 169 ounces in its water tank and more than 35 ounces in its bean reservoir.
Aroma Preservation Cover
Air can weaken the aroma of your beans and impact the finished taste, which is why this machine comes with a preservation cover to block out that air.
Pros
Pros of the W3 include its larger reservoirs. With space for more than 35 ounces of beans and up to 169 ounces of water, you’ll have enough to make dozens of cups every day. It also comes with adjustable spouts that can accommodate cups of different sizes when brewing coffee and adding milk. We like the durable design too, which makes it a good choice for most offices, restaurants and businesses. Use the program settings to brew a cup of cappuccino, espresso, traditional coffee, flat white coffee or other specialty drinks.
As it comes with 12 barista recipes, you can experiment with different flavors and blends in those recipes to make your own customized drinks. The machine will let you save those settings for future use too. Rename the recipes to help other workers create those same blends. When grinding your own beans, you’ll like that the machine features a preservation cover for blocking air and different settings that let you change the way you grind.
Cons
The Jura GIGA W3 is really better for professional use than home use. Even those who worked as a barista in the past may have some small problems figuring out the settings and brewing a cup of traditional coffee. Though it does come with adjustable spouts, you may find that those spouts cannot accommodate the larger or taller cups that you use. Some may feel put off by the fact that Jura recommends buying extra accessories to get more out of the machine too.
Final Verdict: Should You Buy This Model?
If you work in a busy office, own a restaurant or just want to treat your customers to their own blends, you should definitely buy this Jura espresso machine. The W3 is a professional superautomatic machine, which means that it can do many of the steps associated with brewing coffee for you. As long as you make the right selections, it can grind the beans, keep those beans safe in a covered reservoir, brew coffee and even add just the right amount of milk.

The W3 is also great for commercial businesses that have a lot of foot traffic. As it can brew two cups at once, it cuts down on the time your customers spend waiting for their cup. Use any of the 31 specialty settings or 12 barista recipes to make unique drinks for your customers. Jura even lets you rename some of the custom drinks and recipes you create.
Comparable Models to Consider
JURA GIGA 6 Automatic Coffee Machine (View on Amazon.com)
If you love the features of the Jura W3 but you want even more customizability, you should consider the Jura GIGA 6. The GIGA 6 is positioned as a top featured home machine and is a bit more expensive than the W3. Read our Jura GIGA 6 review.
In addition to 28 pre-programmed specialty drinks, this Jura offers custom settings for 10 different milk temperatures, 3 brewing temperatures, and 10 strength settings. You can also adjust strength and volume while you are brewing. Like the W3, the GIGA 6 has two of almost everything: thermoblock boilers, grinders, and dispensers. It’s a super solution if you want Jura commercial quality and the ability to customize every drink.
Jura ENA Micro 9 One Touch Automatic Coffee Machine (View on Amazon.com)
For those who love the look of the more expensive W3 but want to save some money, the ENA 9 Micro is a good choice. It comes with a patented Thermoblock pump that brings the water temperature up faster and produces steam faster. The Micro 9 program settings let you change the temperature or the brew strength of your cup. You’ll also find that the water moves through this machine faster, that it has a smaller footprint and that it lets you brew coffee with just one touch.
Jura Impressa C65 Automatic Coffee Machine (View on Amazon.com)
For those on a budget who want to save money on coffee, the Jura Impressa C65 will help them save money every day. Not only does it turn out specialty drinks like coffee houses offer, but it produces two cups at once. A steam wand on the front can work with cups of different kinds and add that creamy touch of milk or froth that you want. The front coffee spot is also adjustable, letting you use this coffee machine with taller European cups and shorter American cups. It’s one of the easiest to use of all Jura models.
DeLonghi ESAM6700 Gran Dama Avant Touchscreen Super Automatic Espresso Machine (View on Amazon.com)
Though this DeLonghi model can only accommodate a single cup at a time, it comes with many of the same features as the W3 but at a lower price point. It comes with a Single Touch system that ensures you have hot milk anytime you need it, and it can make three different drinks like cappuccino and latte. DeLonghi does not include a grinding option, which means that you need to use traditional beans with this one. Many can overlook that issue because of its cheaper price.
