Miele CM 6310 Coffee System Review

cm6310

View Product on Amazon.com

Finding a coffee machine that you can use every day with minimal fuss is often hard, which is why we recommend the Miele CM 6110 (View on Amazon.com). When we looked at coffee makers, we looked at models from some of the top brands, tried all the possible settings and features and spent a lot of time drinking cups. While some makers created brews that were a little colder or hotter than we liked, others produced cups that were bitter or had a poor aftertaste. We looked at models designed for commercial use and those designed for home use and found that the CM 6110 is a good option for those ready to upgrade from those traditional pots they once used.

Capable of frothing milk, making one or two cups at a time and warming those cups before you drink, it comes with a lot of features that serious coffee drinkers will love. While it is more expensive than machines that use pods or pouches, it delivers a better cup every time. If you visit the coffee shop once a day or a few times throughout the week, you can use this machine to make all those same drinks in the comfort of your own home.

Features

One Touch for One or Two

Stop wasting time brewing separate cups or using a pod machine because you and your spouse like different flavors. With one button touch, you can turn this machine on and let it brew one or two cups. Use your own settings to get the taste you want.

Froth Milk

The CM6110 is one of the only Miele models that comes with its own frothing container. The lightweight and flexible hose that sticks out from the machine lets you add milk, foam or froth to a cup, but you can also hook that hose up to the container. This gives you hot milk for pouring in your coffee and for making hot chocolate.

Unique Control Panel

Between its unique control panel and ample buttons, using this Miele machine is easy. That control panel shows you everything you need to know about your upcoming cup, including the type of drink you selected and whether it uses milk. The control panel can support up to four lines of information.

Cup Warmer

One reason why your coffee doesn’t stay hot is because you pour that liquid into a cold mug, which is why Mile created a cup warmer. That warmer brings your mug up to the right temperature before adding your coffee to help it stay hotter longer. You can also use that warmer to warm up a lukewarm cup.

Specialty Settings

With the CM6110, Miele now lets you make a specialty cup of coffee in seconds. While some will use the machine to make a single cup of coffee from ground beans, others will use it to make an espresso, cappuccino or latte. It also has settings for making a latte macchiato and similar drinks.

Long Coffee Setting

When you drink from a larger or taller cup, most machines will require that you press the fill button several times to fill your cup. The long coffee setting on this model ensures that you get all the coffee you need in one sitting. It increases the output of coffee to fill your mug or cup to the very top.

Change Your Settings

Miele lets you customize this machine and make changes to the settings based on your wants and needs. You can change the amount of water required or make changes to the grinding settings based on your bean type. It even lets you adjust the temperature.

Protect Your Family

With traditional pot systems, you risk your children burning themselves when they grab the machine or the pot from the counter. The CM6110 comes with a locking system designed to reduce those accidents. This system lets you lock the machine and keep anyone else from changing the settings or even turning it on.

Dishwasher Safe

Many commercial coffee machines and larger designs come with impractical parts that you cannot remove from the machine and components that you must wash by hand. Many of the parts that keep this model are dishwasher safe. Even the complete brew unit will come out for washing.

LED Cup Lighting

When you need to grab a cup on your way out the door without disrupting your family, you’ll love the included LED cup lighting. That lighting helps you see when your cup is full, even if you leave the lights off. Similar LED lights add to the overall design of the machine.

Beans and Ground Coffee

Why choose between a machine that only uses the beans it grinds or one that can work with the ground coffee from your favorite shop? The CM6110 can grind and use beans or accept ground coffee via its coffee chute.

Pros

The pros of the CM6110 include its direct sensor control panel, which lets you view four lines of text at the same time, and the included milk canister. Made from stainless steel that matches back to the machine itself, this canister holds all the milk that you need for hot chocolate, cappuccino drinks and topping off your coffee. The milk frothing hose on the front works independently of that canister too, for adding milk directly to your cup. As it comes with one touch technology, the machine lets you select between brewing one or two cups when you first hit the power button. Other benefits include:

-storing information for four separate profiles

-including parts that are safe for use in your dishwasher

-featuring timer settings for changing when it comes on and off

Cons

The main complaints that some have about this model relate to its design and price. As you must open the top to pour in your coffee beans, you cannot mount it under your cabinets or even inside a cabinet. Some shoppers also had problems with the milk froth attachment, which broke after a few months of constant use. Though Miele makes replacement parts, you may have a hard time contacting the company, even when you use its customer support number. While priced higher than some model, it’s one of the more affordable commercial machines you can use at home though.

Final Verdict: Should You Buy This Model?

The Miele CM6110 is great for anyone who rushes around in the morning. As it comes with timer settings, you can head to work without running back inside to turn off the machine. That time can also make the machine automatically come on in the morning and brew your favorite drink before you step foot in the kitchen. The very top even includes a heated surface. All the cups you store on top will come up to temperature as the machine turns on and runs to help keep your coffee at the right temperature for longer. If you need to heat up an older cup, place it right on top and wait a few minutes.

With a built-in grinder, the CM6110 makes it easy to grind your own beans. Select all the grinding settings you want to use, and experiment until you find the best blend. Other users will find the ground coffee chute handy.
